Renowned for her artistry in solo piano performance and collaborative endeavors in the realm of two-pianos and four-hands repertoire, Tamana Tanaka stands as an accomplished pianist with an impressive international profile.

Born in Tokyo, Japan, Ms. Tanaka commenced her musical journey at the age of 6 under the tutelage of Yoshiko Zushi. Guided further by Kazuko Jankowsky, former professor at Musikschule der Stadt Wien, she honed her skills until the age of 18. Her academic journey led her to earn Bachelor’s and pre-Master’s degrees at Toho Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo, studying with Prof. Michiko Okamoto and Prof. Mikako Abe. Notably, she was selected to perform in the prestigious Toho Gakuen School of Music graduation concert in 2016.

Continuing her pursuit of musical excellence, Ms. Tanaka ventured to the USA in 2017 to study with Prof. Jerome Rose at Mannes School of Music in NYC. She successfully graduated with a Master’s degree in 2019 and a Professional Studies Diploma in 2021. During her time at The New School, she was honored with the Steinway & Sons Award and the Marian Marcus Wahl Memorial Award, recognizing her outstanding achievement and talent.

A true testament to her skill and artistry, Tamana Tanaka made her Carnegie Hall solo recital debut in April 2023, presented by Klavierhaus NYC, and received accolades for her outstanding performance. Her European debut took place in Cittadella, Italy, in 2019, where she was later invited again in 2021 to perform piano concerti with the Circle Symphony Orchestra. Noteworthy recital debuts include Klavierhaus West in Palm Springs, California, USA, in 2021.

Ms. Tanaka has graced the stages of numerous international concert halls, including NY Carnegie Hall, Hamarikyu Asahi Hall (Tokyo), Chofu City Green Hall (Chofu), Steinway Hall (NYC), and many others. Her participation in esteemed festivals such as the International Keyboard Institute & Festival (IKIF) in New York, Cittadella International Music Festival & Masterclass in Italy, and the Kasama International Music Festival in Japan has further enriched her musical journey.

Drawing inspiration from masterful educators, Tamana Tanaka has received guidance from notable figures such as Mikhail Voskresensky, Pascal Devoyon, Christopher Elton, Bronislawa Kawalla, Victor Rosenbaum, Asaf Zohar, Yukio Yokoyama, Susumu Aoyagi, Akira Eguchi, and others.
